ESPN My Wish Series

ESPN’s My Wish series is a long‑running collaboration with Make‑A‑Wish that brings sports dreams to life for children with critical illnesses. Each story follows a wish kid as they meet their sports hero, join their favorite team for a day, or experience a once‑in‑a‑lifetime moment connected to the sport they love.

I helped bring three ESPN My Wish stories to life by identifying media‑ready wish kids through interviews, pitching their stories to Make-A-Wish America, and securing placement in the nationally televised series. Once selected, I coordinated all production logistics — arranging interviews, securing filming locations, managing schedules, and supporting ESPN’s crew throughout the shoot. My work ensured each story was compelling, seamless, and true to the child’s experience.

Ray Ray Meets Dak Prescott – ESPN My Wish

Ray Ray’s wish came with a tight turnaround — just seven days to create a TV-ready reveal for ESPN’s My Wish series. I coordinated permits with the City of Santa Ana, secured a filming location at the Hyatt Huntington Beach, and partnered with Santa Ana Pop Warner to stage a community event. The result was a heartfelt, high-energy wish experience that brought together dozens of people to support Ray Ray’s big moment.

A Baseball Wish Come True

Sam and his family are one of the most inspirational I’ve ever met. This teen has been living with cystic fibrosis and never lets anything stand in his way. Currently, he plays high school baseball and has an admiration of Nolan Arenado from the Colorado Rockies. To grant his wish, we worked with his high school’s baseball team to stage a surprise at the end of his summer game. In front of family, friends and teammates, he learned that his wish would soon be granted.

Anthony Meets The 49ers

In partnership with Make-A-Wish America, Make-A-Wish Greater Bay and ESPN, we were able to grant Anthony’s wish to meet the 49ers. Throughout the course of this project, I worked with ESPN to organize and plan Anthony’s graduation wish reveal and worked with the family on filming schedules. We created a memorable experience for the family and all those involved. This segment was part of the ‘My Wish’ series on ESPN and Anthony was one of five children who were selected to participate in this segment. The segment aired July 2015.

In addition to airing on TV, multiple media outlets picked up the story, including ABC News and The Press Enterprise.
