Local Media

I have a strong track record of securing local media coverage by finding the right stories and shaping them for the right outlets. I spent time interviewing wish kids, families, and community partners to understand their experiences, uncover compelling angles, and identify what will resonate most with local audiences. From there, I crafted clear, media‑ready narratives and pitch them to targeted outlets — from newspapers and broadcast stations to digital publications. My approach blends relationship‑building, thoughtful storytelling, and strategic pitching, resulting in consistent coverage.

Making Her Own Wish

Liora’s story is quite possibly one of my favorites. She and her two sisters formed a Make-A-Wish club at their school after hearing that a classmate had a Make-A-Wish experience. A few months after the start of the club, Liora was diagnosed with a malignant kidney tumor- resulting in her enduring numerous medical tests and treatments, and most importantly, being pulled out of school and away from her sisters.

Her diagnosis and experience encouraged the girls to make the club stronger than before. Membership quickly grew, they hosted bake sales, shave-a-thons and Zumba nights, all to raise money to help wish kids. In the summer of 2014, Liora was granted her wish to go to the World Cup. A passionate soccer player herself, this experience was something that she would remember forever.

Wedding Bell Wishes

Two Make-A-Wish volunteers tied the knot!

Matthew and Chelsey met while volunteering at a special event for wish kids and the pair hit it off. The brother of a wish kid, Matthew knows the impact a granted wish can have on a child and their family, while Chelsey interned with Make-A-Wish.

Now, years after their initial meeting- the pair have tied the knot and have incorporated the organization into their wedding plans.  The story was shared in the OC Register on the cover of the local section.

Sing It Loud

For 8-year-old Kaylin, music and performing is more than just a hobby – it’s a source of therapy.  Kaylin ha been battling a gastrointestinal disorder for years, spending weeks at a time in and out of the hospital. One day, she was able to participate in music therapy while in treatment and she hasn’t looked back.

For her wish, Kaylin wanted to take the stage and be a pop star. Make-A-Wish partnered with Orange County School of the Arts and Kaylin was able to put on the show of a lifetime. She took to the stage and belted out five of her favorite songs to her adoring fans.

This story was pitched and got coverage on KTLA and landed on the cover of the local section for the Orange County Register. We also created a video.

A Song In Her Heart

Taylor is a spunky 7-year-old battling Ewing’s sarcoma. Although she has endured many hospital visits, her   love for music kept her upbeat during tough times. Taylor’s most heartfelt wish was to be a singer.

As I was searching for a story to share with Parenting OC Magazine, Taylor seemed to be a perfect fit! The editor, Sascha, truly took Taylor’s wish to a new level.

The amount of people who came together to make Taylor’s wish memorable, continues to amaze me.

Santa Hears From Cool Kid

Each year, Macy’s launches its national Believe campaign, encouraging people to write letters to Santa — with every letter generating a $1 donation to Make‑A‑Wish. To help kick off the season, I identified the perfect storyteller: Finn, my very first wish kid, whose wish to be a “cool kid” made him a natural fit for the campaign.

I partnered with Macy’s, Finn’s family, his elementary school, and our Los Angeles chapter to create a memorable launch moment. Finn’s class hosted the first letter‑writing event, complete with Santa letters, a hot chocolate bar, and plenty of fun. I coordinated media coverage with writers from the OC Register and LA Times, helping share Finn’s story with the community.

The entire school joined the effort, contributing more than 500 letters to Santa — and Finn was featured on Macy’s Believe website, bringing national visibility to the campaign.
