Liora Wolder is an amazing girl.
Her story is quite possibly one of my favorites. First, she is a triplet, a native of South Africa and has a smug personality that makes you want to say, “You Go Girl.”
She and her two sisters formed a Make-A-Wish club at their school after hearing that a classmate had a Make-A-Wish experience. A few months after the start of the club, Liora was diagnosed with a malignant kidney tumor- resulting in her enduring numerous medical tests and treatments, and most importantly, being pulled out of school and away from her sisters.
Her diagnosis and experience encouraged the girls to make the club stronger than before. Membership quickly grew, they hosted bake sales, shave-a-thons and Zumba nights, all to raise money to help wish kids.
In the summer of 2014, Liora was granted her wish to go to the World Cup. A passionate soccer player herself, this experience was something that she would remember forever.
Now on the mend, Liora has continued to stay passionate and close to Make-A-Wish. The girls have continued to fundraise and have left a Make-A-Wish legacy that their school will always remember.
